I can take your trading success to new heights.

Discretionary trading contains a lot of uncertainty which therefore was the beginning of the PatternExplorer. I figured out that there must be a reproducible and analytical trading process that can be highly supported by the PatternExplorer.

My Short Story

I have experience with stocks, currencies and futures and worked 10 years as a researcher for a managed futures fund.
In 1995 I've started my carrier in the financial industry. In the early years I've traded my private portfolio. As many other traders I've also lost almost everything. Most people don't learn much of such an event and instead just loose all money again with their next attempt. The same happened more or less to me so I began to investigate the reasons further.

I've started to learn a lot about chart patterns, candlestick signals and indicators. I figured out that there are so many indicators out there that just just do not improve performance. Furthermore I noticed that I was always too late with finding the signals at the right point in time.

As a result I decided to write a software that helps to find all these signals as quickly as possible during the development stage and not just after a signal has been already fully established. This offered the possibility to prepare e.g. either for a potential breakout or even to place an order right at the lowest point of a trendline.

The signal quality has been quite impressive and the scanning speed was just phenomenal. Many doors have opened and trading success improved. It's still important to point out that trading is a business just like many others too. There is a risk and there is a potential return for that risk. Trading does not necessarily mean to become rich. It can also mean to earn a regular additional income for an acceptable risk.

In the following years I have extended the PatternExplorer with more and more functionality and thereby always kept in mind that only useful indicators should be added. Less is more and this is also true when it comes to trading financial markets with the help of indicators. New well-sounding indicators are popping up every day which makes the selection very difficult.

Somewhere in 2007 I got an excellent opportunity to work as a researcher for a managed futures fund. They have been searching for someone to support them with trading system and software development. It was a big step forward to learn market analysis on an even higher professionell level.
In this position I have analyzed many existing strategies and of course also completely new strategies for risk adjusted performance metrics and robustness. I did a lot of research and development directly in AmiBroker. In the following years I've also used other publicly available research programs but noticed that they just do not offer everything I needed for improving the fund performance even further. Fortunately I got the chance to develop a fully standalone trading and research platform to eliminate the missing functionality.

One of the objectives was to develop an optimization algorithm that finds robust parameters through a rolling window approach to reduce the forward looking bias. Compared to many optimization algorithms the goal was to find a robust solution that also works as good as possible with unknown data. It was a very exciting job and a big step forward. Ten years later I decided to look for new opportunities and to focus on my projects.  In addition I also started to dive into the development of digital workplaces and other exciting software solutions.
